Directions

  1. Prepare the pasta: Start by cooking the linguine or spaghetti according to the package instructions until it's al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. Cook the shrimp: In a large skillet or pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Be careful not to let the garlic brown.

  3. Add the shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet with the garlic and butter. Cook the shrimp for 1-2 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the cooked shrimp from the pan and set them aside.

  4. Make the sauce: To the same pan, add the white wine (or chicken broth) and lemon juice. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for a couple of minutes to reduce and thicken slightly. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if you like a bit of heat.

  5. Combine everything: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss them in the sauce to coat them evenly. Cook for another minute or so to heat the shrimp through.

  6. Serve: Place the cooked pasta on serving plates, top with the shrimp and sauce, and garnish with chopped parsley. You can also add a squeeze of additional lemon juice if desired.
