This salad is named after Caesar Cardini, an Italian-American restaurateur who is said to have created the dish in Tijuana, Mexico, in the 1920s.

To make a classic Caesar salad, start by washing and drying the romaine lettuce, then tear it into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large bowl. Next, add the croutons and Parmesan cheese to the bowl.

Serve the Caesar salad immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and freshly ground black pepper, if desired.

2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts1 head of romaine lettuce, cleaned and cut.1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese1/2 cup croutons1/2 cup Caesar dressing (homemade or store-bought)1/4 teaspoon salt1/4 teaspoon black pepper1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper and olive oil, and place them in a baking dish.
  3. Bake the chicken breasts for 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through.
  4. Slice the chicken into thin strips after allowing it to cool for a few minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the chopped romaine lettuce, Parmesan cheese and croutons.
  6. Add the chicken strips to the bowl.
  7. Pour the Caesar dressing over the salad and toss everything together until the salad is evenly coated with dressing.
  8. Enjoy your wonderful chicken Caesar salad right away!

You can adjust the quantities of the ingredients based on your personal preferences. You can also add other toppings, such as cherry tomatoes, avocado or bacon, to make the salad even more flavorful.
