Hawaiian pizza was first created in Canada in 1962 by a Greek immigrant named Sam Panopoulos, who was inspired by the combination of sweet and savory flavors in Chinese food.
Since then, Hawaiian pizza has become a popular menu item in many pizzerias around the world, although it remains a somewhat controversial topic among pizza lovers. Some people love the sweet and salty combination of the ham and pineapple, while others consider it sacrilege to put fruit on a pizza.
Regardless of your personal feelings about Hawaiian pizza, it's clear that it has made a lasting impact on the world of pizza and food culture more broadly.
